What will these art prints do for me?
I often smile at this question as it is asked by an ego dominated mind that is still trapped in the false belief that the answer to life will be found in stuff or in doing. I can assure you, with great joy these photographic prints are a 100% doing free, they ‘just are’. Like many things in nature they offer nothing but a space in which to experience inner peace. As you contemplate this work your need to ‘do’ may fade and you will become once again more connected with simply being. This is the act that many call meditation. It is a time in which you are able to sense your true feelings, or what I like to call the still quiet voice (soul, spirit or god).
So just what is a visionary artist ?
For a full answer see my blog entry :- What is Visionary Art
For me succinctly speaking, a visionary artist is one who constantly challenges conventional perceptions, on an often tempestuous voyage of self discovery and inquiry. The art such visionaries create can often be seen as visual metaphors for the concepts and theories they have discovered.
Do you have a personal philosophy ?
(Yes but it's a work in progress)
Via the creation of this work, I have come to believe that life is a drama, a dance, it is never ending and is totally non dualistic. As soon as we introduce man made dualism into the mix, I feel we are no longer living in alignment with that which ‘just is’. The Divine Matrix* of which we are all a part in my view favours cold no more than hot, dark no more than light, it has no concept of up or down or good or bad. It dwells only in the ‘NOW’ and therefore can not judge events as we do on past or future.
I believe deep within us all is a deep knowing, ‘a truth if you like, a connection to everything and everyone (a oneness) that is often covered by layers of misinformation, over complications and negativity but most of all fear. Unless we are brave enough to look above the wall of conventional thinking and learn true compassion and gratitude we will never find the peace and love we so claim we want. I thank you for your interest in my work and hope it will inspire you as it has me. So open your heart, and silence your mind and enjoy what you discover... In Joy, Tony

How do i get started in the art world / how do i make money ?
Well for a start the art world and me walk a very different path. Let me answer the question like this, if you are a budding artist and you keep coming up against road blocks in getting your work into galleries etc you have two choices - give up or go your own way. I took the second option. You can wait a whole lifetime for someone to come along and say 'I wanna make you a star' or you can just get on with it. For me it is the general public that validate artists of all forms. If people like what you do that is all that matters. So just get your work out into the public domain in whatever way you can. I'm not talking about the internet I mean the real world. Take your work to fairs, shows even car boot sales. Just get it seen and people will very soon start to give you feedback. From that feedback (the helpful stuff) you can hone what you do. Usually for every type of art there is an audience. The trick is to find where that audience is. It may be the case that what you do has such limited appeal that your hopes of making a full time living from it may never come true.
Im afraid I believe if you go into anything in life with the sole wish to make money you will be usually very sadly disappointed. You have to enjoy and believe in what you do first and foremost. I know no one can live on fresh air pie but it's a fact creative types that make a living from what they do are far and few between. If you love what you do you may have to supplement it with a part-time job or live a very humble existence, or marry a very rich person (I jest)
Do you take any form of drugs during the creation of these images?
In a word No, I guess I'm very boring in that i don't take drugs period, my mind is wild enough without them . I do like a nice cool dark ale but I'm always stone cold sober while creating these works.
